Notice to all Condo Owners Living in High-Rise and Mid-Rise Condominiums in Guelph – VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Fair Tax Campaign-Guelph (FTC-Guelph) has been advocating for Condo owners to all receive Guelph City solid waste collection for several years. This non-delivery of service, costs condo owners about $150.00 to $190.00 a unit per year. For years, the City has promised to correct this situation and finally there is, in the Capital Budget, a “multi-res collection vehicle” that would provide this service for high-rise and mid-rise condo owners.
The problem is that the expenditure is not for the 2017 Budget year, but instead for 2018.
At the Nov. 30, 2016 Council Meeting, Councillor Gordon served a Notice of Intention to move the purchase of the multi-res collection vehicle to the 2017 Budget year. When this Intention of Motion is debated by the Councillors at the Budget Meeting on Wed. Dec. 7, Councillor Gordon will need the support of condominium owners in the gallery at City Hall, to persuade Council this multi-res vehicle is important to condo owners. The savings to your condo corporation fees amounts to $10,000.00 to $20,000.00 a year depending on the size of your condominium.
FTC-Guelph is asking Guelph Property Managers to encourage high-rise and mid-rise condo owners to attend the meeting at Guelph City Hall at 1 Carden Street on Wed. Dec. 7, 2016, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Bring posters protesting your right to City solid waste service that you pay for with your taxes.
It’s time condo owners get the City services they pay for, deserve and need. It’s time condo owners start demanding services from the City of Guelph they pay for, deserve and need.
